Updated: Nov 23, 2021

Many thanks to Zoé at Zooloo's Book Tours & Dana Caver for my spot on the blog tour for #TwoTruths!

SHORT SYNOPSIS:

After the mysterious death of her husband, Renee Morgan is determined to protect her three daughters, forcing her to face a history she has spent a lifetime avoiding.

Groomed by her father to join the most elite of secret societies, Brett knows she is destined for something great. But her ambition demands a high price.

Sara is ready to avenge her father at any cost. When she finds herself swept up in conspiracies and family secrets, her search for answers uncovers a primeval power.

Hadley watched her father die and now he won’t leave her alone. Guided by his ghost, she begins to experience memories of past lives.

As the journeys of Renee, Brett, Sara and Hadley converge, two Truths are revealed that change everything they knew about themselves and the world they live in.

EXTRACT FROM THE GROUP:

“The beginning started long before the Sumerians,” he said. “But the Sumerians are a good place for us to start. What do you know about them?” “Sumer was in Mesopotamia,” Penny said. “It was one of the first known great civilizations. Today it’s known as Iraq.” She came away from the painting. “The Sumerians were, obviously, Sumer’s people, and nothing was known about them until about a hundred and fifty years ago when an archeologist began to dig into the strange mounds dotting the countryside in southern Iraq.” Her eyes grew bright. “Lots of amazing artifacts were found, the most important being the cuneiform writings, etched and preserved perfectly into stone.” Sara slouched in her chair. She had learned these things too, but they didn't excite her like they did Penny. What did all this have to do with their fathers anyway? “These writings,” Penny continued, “together with artifacts, have shown us they were the first civilization to have the wheel, schools, medicine, science, written proverbs, history, congress, taxation, laws, social reforms, coined money, and not to mention, an amazing knowledge of astronomy. They understood it all: the three-hundred-and-sixty-degree circle, the zenith, the horizon, the poles, the equinoxes ... everything!” She was pacing the room now, her hands flying in the air as she talked. “They created the world’s first calendar, which was used for centuries afterward by the Egyptians and the Greeks.” “And why does this excite you so?” Germain asked. “In their texts they claimed everything they knew and achieved had come from their gods. But not gods that directed them from a different dimension, not an untouchable god like we refer to. But gods that lived among them and ruled them from Earth; real, tangible gods.” “Yes,” Germain nodded, his eyes lighting up, matching hers. “Then,” she said, “Two thousand years after the Sumerians appeared, they mysteriously vanished.” Her voice had been rising as she spoke, but now she stopped and shook her head. “Where did they go?” she asked Germain softly. “Who were these gods and why have we been taught so little about them?” “There are plenty of similar mysteries in history,” he said. “The ancient Chinese ‘seals’ discovered all over Ireland during a time when there was no known commerce between China and the Emerald Isle; the life-sized crystal skulls, obviously made by a power cutter, that were found in South America dating thirty-six hundred years ago; the giant stone balls in Costa Rica made of granite, a rock not found in the area; the ancient stone forts throughout England, France, and Germany that could only have been made by a heat not possible from conventional fires; a computer-like device containing differential gears dating back to the sixteenth century found in Crete; a battery run from alkaline grape juice found in an Iraqi village dating 220 BC; Stonehenge; the huge heads of Easter Island; the Peruvian Nazca lines; the Great Serpent Mound of Ohio. Why does this mystery of the Sumerians interest you so much when so many mysteries abound?” “I guess science has explained some of those mysteries, hasn’t it?” Penny asked Germain’s eyes sparkled. “How they were done, I suppose, for some of them.” “More importantly than how they were done,” Penny said, “is that all the mysteries you mention are linked. They’re all signs that technologies and discoveries of the past few hundred years were already known a long time ago, and if you study them closely, they all trace back to Sumer. We knew more six thousand years ago than we know now because we were integrated with gods, not separate from them!”
